Open For Business: Burley Oak Brewing Company

BERLIN, Md. – Burley Oak Brewing Company in Berlin is open for business, offering curb-side beer pick up. Owner Bryan Brushmiller says staff at the brewery are wearing masks and gloves on the job. They’re making sure there’s minimal contact between them and customers picking up. Brushmiller also says another precaution they’re taking is that employees are regularly checking their temperatures.

Brushmiller says he’s excited to get back to business as normal but is focusing on making sure his employees and community are cared for. “We’re going to do whatever we can to continue supplying jobs to people. You know, when it’s safe and the economy goes back to tourism, we’ll be very excited,” said Brushmiller.

The brewery owner also says now more than ever, it’s important for people to support local business. “I think a lot of people are starting to understand the importance of buying local,” said Brushmiller. “This is the local people you’re buying it from. There’s 20 people here that rely on local people purchasing beer.”

Brushmiller tells us that he’s also making progress on revamping The Globe. He purchased the local landmark last year, and says he’s working on it as much as he can while following safe practices.
