Delmar’s Leatherbury signs free-agent contract with Arizona Cardinals

Former 47abc Sports photographer headed to NFL

SALISBURY, Md- Delmar High School alum Shane Leatherbury’s NFL dream has become a reality. Leatherbury, who tied the single-season receiving touchdown record of 12 at Towson– agreed to sign a free-agent deal with the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday night.

After the completion of the draft Saturday evening, Leatherbury turned to his agent who began seeking out teams for him to join as an undrafted free agent. “There we’re a couple other teams interested, but in the end he said he thought the Cardinals we’re the best fit and a place I’d have a real chance to make the roster, and I agreed.”

The Delmar alum had stops at Division II Seton Hill, Wor-Wic Community College, and 47abc (as a sports photographer) before walking on at Towson in 2017. He leaves TU as one of the most accomplished receivers in school history, ranking in the top 10 all-time in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
