Delmarva to receive more than $25M to support COVID-19 response
DELMARVA – More than $25 million in federal money will soon be on its way to Delmarva to support the COVID-19 response.
On Wednesday, the White House and the Department of Health and Human Services announced funding for all 50 states.
Maryland will receive more than $10.5 million, with Delaware receiving over $4.5 million, and Virginia getting over $13.5 million.
“State and local health departments are on the frontlines of responding to the COVID-19 outbreak, and we are deeply grateful for their work. CDC is distributing this new funding extremely rapidly, as called for by Congress. President Trump and his entire administration will continue working to ensure state and local jurisdictions have the resources they need to keep Americans safe and healthy,” said HHS Secretary Alex Azar in a statement.
Funding for all 50 states will total more than $604 million.
