Community Foundation announces $600,000 available in scholarships
SALISBURY, Md. – A local nonprofit still has over half a million dollars in scholarships available, but the time to apply is ticking away.
The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore has 600,000 dollars in scholarships left, but the deadline to apply for the majority of the scholarships is April 1.
Members of the nonprofit say the amount of scholarships awarded has grown over the past couple of years.
They say these scholarships are critical for many high school students.
“It seems that in the last several years, we’ve had more people interested in developing scholarships with us and supporting local high schools, especially like our Wi Hi alumni,” said Heather Trader, donor relations officer at the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.
“They’re very supportive of our students,” said Trader.
