Children’s non-profit founder offering advice for parents during quarantine

SALISBURY, Md. – A kids’ author and founder of a children’s non-profit is offering advice to parents on how to keep their kids active and engaged while they’re home from school. Sherrikka Myers tells 47 ABC the key to keeping kids entertained involves organizing games and activities for kids to participate on a daily basis, while staying safe at home.

Myers says it’s also important for parents to communicate with their children as to why they’re being made to stay home, so they’ll feel connected and hopeful to return back to school.

“We run around all day and we don’t have that time to actually sit down and talk with our kids, and we can use this time now to talk about some things that they weren’t able to talk about while school was in,” said Myers.

Myers also says reading is a great way to keep your kids learning in a fun way. She also says it’s important to plan future activities with your kids to keep them hopeful.

Myers is the founder of Every One Voice, a non profit that helps kids with self-confidence.
