Del. man arrested on drug and weapon charges

DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Magnolia man on multiple charges related to gang participation Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the Dover Probation and Parole, Dover Police Department Street Crimes and Drug Unit, and Delaware State Police had been investigating 24-year-old Dahppy Brewah in connection with drug related activity. At around 2:45 p.m., Brewah was seen using his cell phone while driving on S. Little Creek Road, and a traffic stop was initiated. Probation and Parole officers from the Dover Street Crimes Unit obtained a warrant to search Brewah’s residence in the 200 block of President Drive in Dover.

Officers recoved a semi-automatic Glock handgun, a 31 round extended magazine containing 18 rounds plus one chambered round, and 234 bags of heroin (approximately 1.638 grams).

Brewah was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm after previously being convicted of a violent offense, possession of ammunition after previously being convicted of a violent offense, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited while also in possession of a controlled substance, illegal gang participation, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic device while vehicle is in motion.

He was held at SCI on $84,501 cash only bond.
