Briddell leads Gulls in comeback win over Apprentice

SALISBURY, Md- The Salisbury men’s basketball team won their first home game of the 2019-2020 season, and improved to 6-9 overall on the year, defeating Apprentice 66-61 on Wednesday night at Maggs Physical Activities Center in Salisbury.

Salisbury trailed 37-33 at the half, and saw their deficit balloon to as many as 12 in the second half behind Apprentice’s 7-0 run to start the 2nd.

The Gulls would chip away and eventually tie the game with 8 1/2 minutes remaining. After multiple lead changes, SU took the lead for good and got their final seven points of the game from guard Gary Briddell.

Briddell led the charge with 20 points to go along with 8 rebounds, while teammate Mike Ward registered 17 points.
