Runners break a sweat for a good cause

SALISBURY, Md. – Runners laced up their sneakers on Tuesday in Salisbury to break a sweat for a good cause.

Pure Fitness hosted their first ever Run Run Rudolph Competition.

Runners could come to the gym, donate money for Giving Tuesday, and then compete to run the fastest mile.

Organizers at the gym tell 47 ABC this was the perfect way to combine fun exercise and giving back.

“It’s something different, something new, and I feel like everyone is trying to be more active and more health conscious so we thought this would be a good way to get that part and to be able to help out,” Jocelyn Feist, Mentoring Coordinator, said.

Organizers tell 47 ABC the person who ran the fastest mile won a gift card.
