UPDATE: Wanted suspect located in Delmar

12/10 UPDATE: Delaware State Police say 37-year-old Dionederik Godwin was located and arrested Monday evening.

According to police, Godwin was found at a residence in the 35000 block of Mount Herman Circle in Delmar shortly before 9 p.m.He has been charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, strangulation, aggravated menacing, five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of offensive touching.

Godwin is currently being held at SCI on $46,750 secured bond.

SELBYVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a Maryland man who is wanted in connection with a domestic incident.

According to police, at around 4:20 p.m. Saturday, troopers were called to the 29000 block of Poplar Court (Hickory Tree Apartments) in Selbyville for a report of a male subject with a gun chasing another male subject. On arrival, troopers learned that 37-year-old Dionederik Godwin responded to his ex-girlfriend’s residence where he got into an argument with her and her boyfriend.

It was reported that Godwin walked into the residence, made contact with the male victim and began challenging him before pulling out a handgun. Godwin then reportedly pushed his ex-girlfriend and strangled her. The victims were able to leave the residence, but Godwin proceeded to chase the male victim with the gun in hand. He then swung the gun and hit the male victim.

Police say there were five children in the residence at the time of incident, ranging from 4 to 13 years of age. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Godwin then fled the area in a black pickup or SUV style vehicle, possible a Jeep, with New Jersey registration, before police arrived. He currently has active warrants out for possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, strangulation, aggravated menacing, five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of offensive touching.
