Cambridge opens up season with win over Bennett

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Cambridge South Dorchester Vikings spoiled the head coaching debut of Bennet Clippers new face Greg Brown after winning 77-63.

The Vikings got off to a hot start by taking advantage of some early Bennet turnovers, and got off to a 14-4 run to start the game. The Clippers called a timeout and closed the first quarter on a 13-2 run to end the frame ahead 17-16.

After a back and forth opening few minutes, the Vikings found their groove in the open floor and took full advantage. Tyrone Christion had 18 points at the half for Cambridge.

Cambridge held the lead for the third before the Clippers rallied back and took a  one-point lead. Cambridge shook off some miscues and rallied to close the game on another big run.
