Buzz Off! Cancer 3-D helps families battling cancer

LEWES, Del. – Whether you had hair on your head or on your face, everyone on Sunday was welcome to cut off whatever they could to support families battling cancer.

The annual fundraising event called Buzz Off! Cancer 3-D took place at the Crooked Hammock Brewery.

The event is a chance for both men and women to raise awareness about the disease by cutting their hair.

On Sunday, people also got to participate in a raffle and auction, and money collected will go towards the Beebe Tunnell Cancer Center Special Needs Fund.

Organizers say they were inspired to host this event after losing loved ones to cancer and they hope this event will help as many families as possible.

“I just believe that we need to rally together and have more research and find more cures because the positive thing is a lot of these diseases are curable and beatable, so we just want to let people know that we have their back,” said Morgan Shank, organizer of the event.

Shank says this event generates more than 2,000 dollars to help fight cancer.
