Vikings’ run ends at state powerhouse Dunbar
BALTIMORE, Md- One of the best Cambridge-South Dorchester football seasons in recent memory came to an end on Saturday afternoon, when the Vikings fell 45-3 to Dunbar (of Baltimore City) in 1A state semifinals on Saturday.
Dunbar sophomore QB Karon Moore finished with 4 touchdown passses to four different receivers in the game. The Poets took a 14-0 lead midway thru the second quarter. Cambridge would get on the board with a James Frazier 33-yard field goal, but Moore would once again drop another touchdown pass in, to put Dunbar up 22-3 at the half.
In the second half, Moore threw his fourth TD, Dion Crews-Harris rumbled to a 34-yard TD, and Davonta Ayres took a interception back 26-yards for the remaining Dunbar score.
Cambridge finishes the season 10-3 on the year, while Dunbar goes on to play Catoctin in next weekend’s 1A state final.
