Source local produce this holiday season

47ABC- The weather won’t be the best if you like to be outside, but let’s be honest… Thursday is all about sitting around the table being thankful and eating. No one is going to be eating outside.  But they can eat local produce and that’s something Maryland’s Department of Agriculture wants to see.

Tonight they issued a reminder on Social Media to everyone, not just Marylanders to buy from your neighbors. Whether that be the farmer down the street or the fruit stand on the corner. There are a lot of great items for you to buy that don’t require you to spend your hard-earned dollars at Walmart.

Ag officials say that sweet potatoes and green beans are a hit this time of year. But don’t forget about fresh bread or turkey, which are also sourced locally.
