Delmar shuts out rival Laurel, wins 4th straight Lions Club trophy

LAUREL, De- The Delmar Wildcats football team improved to 7-2 on the season, defeating Laurel 34-0 on Friday night.

Delmar got off to an early 6-0 lead on the first play from scrimmage, when Jacob Von Arx found Zach Covington for a 35-yard passing touchdown on the first play from scrimmage.

From there the Wildcats rolled from touchdowns from Hunter Von Arx and Te’Kwon Dennard in the first half. Hunter Von Arx would punch in his second score of the game in the second half, along with a Dylan Rodriguez touchdown run to push a 34-0 final.

Delmar (7-2) moves to host a showdown with Woodbridge in the season finale, while Laurel (3-6) will visit Seaford to end their season.
