Wesley ties it up in final seconds, shocks Montclair St. in OT

DOVER, Del.- After scoring the game tying touchdown with :45 to play in regulation, the Wesley Wolverines took down Montclair St. 20-17 in an overtime thriller. Wesley moves to 6-1 on the year.

It was a hot start for the Wolverines, scoring a touchdown on their opening drive, a Ruhann Peele QB keep from the wildcat, taking a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. The second quarter would belong to the Red Hawks, scoring fourteen unanswered including a half ending pick six from Zahir Wilder to make it a 14-7 score at the half.

Not much happening for either teams in the third quarter, neither team able to get the ball into the red zone. Jump ahead to three minutes to play in regulation, Wesley forcing a punt for their last chance to force overtime. On 4th and fifteen, Wesley needing to convert to stay alive QB Jon Mullin found Peele at the stick to keep the Wolverines alive. Jump ahead again, 4th and goal, :45 to play in regulation and Mullin found his tight end Rick Hess in the end zone to tie it up at 14-14 to force overtime.

Montclair St. won the coin toss and kicked a field goal on the opening  possession of overtime. The Wolverines carrying all the momentum at this point would need just five plays and a Ruhann Peele QB keep up the gut from the wildcat to end it and complete the comeback.

Ruhann Peele with 17 touches, 157 total yards and two touchdowns to earn himself his third NJAC offensive player of the week honors.
