Venere notches two scores, Parkside blanks Bennett

Rams clinch Bayside South

SALISBURY, Md- The Parkside Rams boys soccer team defeated rival James M. Bennett 2-0 on Tuesday night at Wicomico County Stadium.

Rams forward Vince Venere capitalized on an early mistake in the Clipper defense, netting the game’s first goal just four minutes into the contest. The teams would trade chances before the break, with Parkside walking into the locker room with a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, the Clippers would have multiple chances to tie the game, before Venere once again snuck behind the defense, and netted the final goal of the game. Parkside goalie Gavin Grey would be credited with the shutout win.

The victory clinches the Bayside South division crown for the Rams, who will play for the Bayside Championship on Monday, October 21st at Kent Island High School.
