Dover man arrested on gun charges
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police arrested a man on multiple gun charges late Saturday night.
According to police, 18-year-old Dakota Borntreger was seen driving a vehicle in the 200 block of S. DuPont Highway shortly before midnight. Knowing that Borntreger was wanted by Delaware State Police for possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, contact was made with Borntreger, and he was taken into custody.
At the time of his arrest, Borntreger was found to be in possession of a 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number.
He was charged with carry concealed deadly weapon, two counts of possession of firearm/ammo by person prohibited, and possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $20,000 secured bond.
