Wild horse hit, killed on Assateague Island

BERLIN, Md. – The National Park Service says a wild horse was hit and killed on Assateague Island during the early morning hours Sunday.

We’re told the mare, identified as “Connie’s Girl” (N2BHS-AL), was standing in the road along the curve on Bayberry Drive during the predawn hours, when a park vehicle reportedly struck the hind quarter of the horse.
