Salisbury Police Department hosts group of explorers

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Police Department was full on Wednesday night, but not with anyone in trouble.

Kids from the Salisbury Police Department Explorers got to tour the station, talk with officers, and see what a career in law enforcement is all about.

The explorers are a group of kids who have an interest in police work and some older teenagers who are currently in school studying criminal justice.

Leaders of the group tell 47 ABC that this time with the officers is important for them to build connections and learn about a possible future career.

“Coming here it’s really like a close knit family, and you can talk to the police officers and call them whenever you need, it’s very like homey, and we try to make everybody feel at home, it doesn’t matter where your background is, where you come from,” Harmony Wilson, the President of the local group, said.

Anyone interested in signing their kid up to become an explorer can visit their Facebook Page or contact the Salisbury Police for more information.
