Revitalization plan in Cambridge approved to improve local neighborhood

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – After months of preparation and design, the city of Cambridge officially has a plan in place to revitalize the Pine Street neighborhood. Officials say the Cambridge Neighborhood Revitalization Plan outlines a number of strategies and tools for the city to consider to create lasting change in the Pine Street neighborhood. From promoting home ownership in the neighborhood, to restoring run down homes, city officials say there’s a little bit of everything offered to help revive one of the city’s most historic areas.

“The plan really enables a blueprint where we can really start to try and engage different non-profits, see different roles for different groups. Different roles within the community to play in making their own neighborhood a better place, and it gives us sort of that blueprint of where we want to go and how we want to get there,” said Neighborhood Revitalization Manager, Rhodana Fields.

City officials say they’ll be following these guidelines for the neighborhood over the next couple of years.
