North Caroline smothers WiHi in road shutout
Bulldogs D proves to much for WiHi
SALISBURY, Md- The North Caroline Bulldogs put up an impressive performance on Friday night, defeating WiHi 20-0 at Wicomico County Stadium.
NC got started early, with their defense forcing the issue. Rhian Silsley forced a fumble on WiHi QB Andre Matthews on the Tribe’s first offensive possession, and Carlton Johnson returned it 45-yards for a touchdown to give North Caroline a 6-0 lead just two minutes into the matchup.
After a Wyatt Laclair 1-yard touchdown extended their lead to 13-0, the ‘Dawgs defense once again rose to the challenge. Johnson forced another fumble of Matthews, and Owen Doyle returned
it to the Indians 6-yard line. A few plays later, Laclair would once again punch it in from a yard out. With the 20-0 lead early in the second quarter, NC’s defense was able to coast, and its offense able to sustain drives and finish the game strong for the win.
North Caroline (2-0) will visit Washington next week, while WiHi (1-1) hosts city-rival Parkside on next Friday.
