Folk Festival preparations underway
SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury will soon be filled with live music, thousands of people, and more, and the city is gearing up in preparation for the big party next week.
For the next few days stages will be built, tents will go up, and information packets will be put together as people, and musical artists, head into town.
Folks living or traveling into the city will soon begin to see road closures early next week.
The first closure will be on Division Street from Main street to route 50 on Tuesday, followed by parts of Market Street and Main Street in the days following.
Organizers tell 47 ABC that while it’s a lot of work preparing for the festival, they couldn’t be more excited to welcome visitors to Downtown.
“It’s an exciting time and we’ve got a lot of people coming in and a lot of stuff to do still, but we’re ready and we’re happy that the festival is finally here,” Caroline O’Hare, local manager, said.
The city wants to remind folks that any cars left within the scope of the festival will need to be moved by 6 a.m. on Friday.
The Festival kicks off on Friday and will go until Sunday.
