Easton shuts out Colonel for their first win of the season
EASTON, Md.- Behind two goals in the first half, the Easton Warriors closed out the game with another in the second for a 3-0 win over Colonel Richardson. With the win, the Warriors start the season 1-0 for the fourth consecutive year.
It was all Easton early, getting on the board in the ninth minute off a Kevin Mejia rocket through the defense. Then in the fifteenth minute, the Warriors would get another. This time its Joesito Myers splitting two defenders and gets it to the bottom corner. Easton would take a 2-0 lead at the half.
In the second, it was much of the same story. Easton would get a third score in the 63rd minute, Gardner Edgell with the interception on a Colonel clear and he sent it from 40 yards out to extend it to 3-0. Easton holds the shut out 3-0 over Bayside North foe Colonel Richardson
One bright spot for CR, keeper Christina Brewer recorded 9 saves in the loss.
Easton will look to move to 2-0 when they host Parkside next Monday the 16th. Colonel will look to get in the win column when they travel to Pocomoke to take on the Warriors tomorrow at 5:30.
