Central football bounces back for a huge win over Caesar Rodney
CAMDEN, Md.- After a tough loss to Smyrna last Friday, Sussex Central bounced back for a huge 34-21 win over Caesar Rodney. With the win, the Golden Knights improve to 3-1 on the year while the loss drops the Riders to 1-3.
The Knights were hot from the gate, TyJhir Sheppar-Parker returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for the touchdown. After a Riders three and out, the Knights would drive the length of the field and cap the drive off with another Sheppard-Parker touchdown, this time up the gut for one yard.
The Riders would finally get something going on their second drive of the game. An 11 play drive, all runs, capped off by a four yard Manny Kennedy touchdown to get CR on the board. The Knights would lead 14-7 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Knights would score again, and you guessed it, TyJhir Sheppar-Parker with the two yard touchdown up the gut for his third score of the game
. He would have four as Sussex Central would go on to win 34-21.
The Golden Knights will return to action next Friday when they host Polytech. The Riders will look to get back in the win column next Friday when they travel to Middletown to take on the Cavaliers.
