Two arrested for robbery in Blades

BLADES, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested two women in connection to a robbery that happened last weekend.

Police say the incident happened just before noon, at a residence in the 8000 block of Concord Road. On arrival, a 50-year-old male resident reported that two females had come to his residence and demanded money. The victim told police that he knew one of the females, identified as 30-year-old Nicole Griffith, who continued asking for money and claimed to be the mother of one of his children. Griffith and the other female, identified as 24-year-old Jamie Hawkins, then sprayed the victim in the eyes with a chemical, causing his eyes to burn and swell.

Both then hit the victim before stealing his wallet from his pocket and fleeing the area.

The victim sustained minor injuries as was treated for them on scene.

At around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Griffith and Hawkins were taken into custody at the Sunrise Motel in Seaford. Both were charged with first degree robbery, second degree assault, second degree conspiracy, theft, offensive touching, and criminal trespass, and are currently being held at the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $63,150 cash only bond.
