Sixth pre-k program accredited in Dorchester Co.

SECRETARY, Md. – Another Pre-K program is now accredited in Dorchester County.

Warwick Elementary will now being able to offer pre-k. The school, which is in Secretary, joins five other schools in the county. The program had an internal and external review, as well as input from staff and parents, and site visits from the state Department of Education.

Officials with Dorchester County Public Schools say they are excited about expanding early childhood education because pre-k is shown to positively impact students. The pre-k class at Warwick is already full with 20 students enrolled for the upcoming school year but there are still spaces available in other schools including Maple, Choptank, Sandy Hill and Hurlock.
