Harrington man arrested following domestic dispute

HARRINGTON, Del. – Harrington Police arrested a man on Wednesday after he assaulted and threatened someone Tuesday night.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Dixon Street at around 9:15 p.m. for a reported domestic dispute. The female victim told police that she was assaulted by 47-year-old Edward Thomas during an argument. Further investigation revealed that Thomas would not allow the victim to leave and threatened to kill her.

Thomas fled the scene in a vehicle prior to police arrival, hitting and damaging the victim’s vehicle in the process. He later turned himself into Harrington Police and was charged with second degree unlawful imprisonment, terroristic threatening, offensive touching, and failure to provide information at a collision scene.

He was released on his own recognizance.
