Independence Day Tourism Brings Big Business to Ocean City

Ocean City, Md. – Hundreds of thousands of people flocked to Ocean City this past week to celebrate independence day which injected big business into the resort town.

Restaurants, hotels, shops and other local businesses enjoyed big crowds all week, but it was even sweeter this year due to the fourth of July being on a Thursday enabling a spike in sales in the middle of the week which is normally a slower time for business.

“We’re so busy, we were jammed, we don’t stop it’s been a great summer so far and hopefully it keeps going like this,” Ace Owis, owner of Seaside Deli Beer & Wine said.

Owis says he hopes this week’s visitors keep coming back for more.

Ocean City should get another surge in visitors in early August with the start of the White Marlin open coming to the Eastern shore.
