Gorman Park Reopens in Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. – In Ocean City, Pickleball players have something to celebrate.

Gorman Park is reopen after months of construction and renovations.

And while the park has your typical playground for kids, a major focus was put on one thing: pickleball courts.

Pickleball players in the city didn’t have enough space to play , so now they’re thankful for the extra courts.

And officials tell 47 ABC that these courts will bring together people of all ages from all around the city.

“Particularly to add the pickleball element up here, that’s one of the fastest growing, if not the fastest growing, anywhere, and it’s really something that participants are of all ages, so we have so many different generations up here playing this game,” Ocean City Mayor Richard Meehan said.

Officials added that while this park will attract people who come to Ocean City for vacation, it’s also a great resource for residents who live there year-round.
