Frankford man arrested on 6th DUI charge

MILFORD, Del. – A Frankford man was arrested on his 6th offense DUI as well as other charges early Sunday morning.

According to police, at around 1:30 a.m. an officer with the Milford Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Northwest Front Street in Milford. On arrival, it was learned that 58-year-old Garry Phillips hit a sign post in his Chevrolet Silverado.

Field sobriety tests revealed that Phillips was driving while impaired, and it was learned that he had five prior DUI arrests. Phillips was subsequently taken into custody and charged with 6th offense DUI, driving while suspended or revoked, failure to have insurance identification in possession, and inattentive driving. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $7,050 cash bail.
