Delaware shows out for 2nd Annual Duron Harmon Football Camp

FREDERICA, DE- Over 200 student-athletes made their way to the DE Turf Sports Complex off Route 1 on Saturday afternoon, as one of the 302’s most accomplished sons returned home.

Duron Harmon, a three-time Super Bowl champion of the New England Patriots, held his second annual football camp at the 12-field facility. Harmon, who played high school football at Caesar Rodney in Camden, cited the opportunity to give back to a village who once raised him.

“The reason why I have the camp is to give thanks to the community, people always say it takes a village to raise a child, and it was truly that,” said Harmon. Among other current NFL players at the camp was Delmar High School alum Alex Ellis, who has split time in his three-year pro career with four NFL teams. “We’re here to represent and just keep the kids pushing.”

Campers participated in individual and team drills and were awarded top performer awards as camp concluded. The event was free to all participants.
