Crash closes eastbound Route 50 in Salisbury, driver charged

 

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Police say a tractor trailer driver is facing charges after he caused an accident on Route 50 that sent a woman to the hospital, on Monday.

The crash happened just before noon, in the eastbound lane, near Perdue. Police say the tractor trailer driver and another woman in a car were driving westbound. The tractor trailer driver reportedly tried to change lanes and hit the car causing the driver to over correct, go through the median bushes and flip. The woman in the car was brought to the hospital for minor injuries.
Another SUV was also hit during the crash.

Officials have not released the names of the people involved. All three Eastbound lanes, between Delaware Ave and Cypress Street were shut down, for about 4 hours.
