Community gears up for Gender Journey Mid-Atlantic

SALISBURY, Md. – Both PFLAG Salisbury and FreeState Justice are helping to plan a regional conference called Gender Journey Mid-Atlantic.

A major goal is to help address the specific needs of the LGBTQIA community.

The conference, which will be the first of its kind in the area, will take place in October of 2020 in Central Maryland.

Another goal of conference would be to help provide resources that will shape the future for this community.

Even though planning is in the early stages right now organizers say they are looking for professionals like psychologists, mental health counselors and educators who would be interesting in joining the event.

“This conference is going to help them be armed with the knowledge and skills to best serve this community,” said the FreeState Justice Executive Director, Mark Procopio.

Organizers say they hope this event will help to create a more inclusive atmosphere for the LGBTQIA community.
