Berlin Little League team vying to win regional championship

BERLIN, Md. – The Berlin U-13 little league team are state champs for the second year in a row and will now head to regionals. The regional tournament will be next week in New York and they’re hoping to get a little support from their community to help them get there.

All monetary donations will help pay for the trip to the regionals and go directly towards Berlin Little League. We spoke with the team on Wednesday and they say if you choose to support, your money will be going to a team that’s confident they’ll do well in New York.

Head Coach Mitch Loring explains, “This team is built up of some good kids. Five of them were on the state championship team from last year and a crew of eight kids that are all new.”

Star catcher Ryder Swanson adds, “Last year we fell a little bit short in the regional championships though this year I think we have a good chance to do it.”

They’re also having a parents night out fundraiser next Wednesday, July 17th, to raise funds as well at the Berlin Activities Depot from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
