47th Annual Camp Barnes Stock Car Race to Raise Money for Kids

Delmar, De.-This year’s Camp Barnes stock car race will feature seven classifications and over $35,000 in winnings for participants at the Delaware International Speedway on Wednesday night.

The point of the race is to raise money for a camp for boys and girls which is held by the Delaware State Police.

“They work on team building, social media issues, and the fun part is they’ve got a Olympic sized pool,” Det. Jeff Hudson, of the Delaware State Police said. With crabbing, fishing, archery, and some trail runs the kids will stay plenty busy and best of all they can meet kids from all over the state he added.

Tickets range from $20 to $35 if you want to be in the pit but children under 10 years of age are admitted for free.

Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with the races starting at 6:30 p.m.
