Sea turtles released at Assateague State Park

BERLIN, Md. – Four rehabilitated sea turtles were released back to sea on Assateague Island Thursday morning.

After months of rehab, the National Aquarium released two loggerheads and Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles at Assateague State Park. We’re told the two Kemp’s Ridley turtles were rescued off of the Massachusetts coast in November 2018, while both loggerheads were rescued from the Cape Cod shores in December.

Two other sea turtles that came from the Pittsburgh Zoo were also released.
