Repairs to Begin on Del. Sewage Line

DOVER, Del. – Prepare for some possible traffic delays if you’re heading down Route 13 in the next couple of months.

The Public Works Department tells 47 ABC repairs will start on an underground sewage line next week.

The line, which is almost 50 years old, has been causing problems for years after a crack developed.

The area being repaired will run from Delaware Technical Community College’s Terry Campus to Garden Lane.

Officials say the first phase of the project will only include signage being put up in the area, but after that drivers can expect some lane closures and disruptions.

“We’re promoting it as limited traffic disruptions where more major work will be happening at night as opposed to during the day however some businesses to operate with not your normal 8 to 5 hours,” Diana Golt with the Kent County Public Works said.

The project is expected to last for about 5 months, so officials say to just be alert when traveling on Route 13.
