Four Dover teens charged, firing BB guns at officers

DOVER, Del. – Police say four juveniles from Dover are facing charges after they reportedly fired BB guns at officers, Saturday evening.

Police responded to the Dover Mall, around 4:30 p.m., after security told them that a group of young kids refused to leave the property and were being disorderly.

Officers arrived to the scene and drove past the group, who were all on bicycles, at first. As they drove by, one of the 13-year-olds reportedly pulled out a BB gun and fired multiple times at the Dover Police cars. He hit the cars multiple times, causing minor damage.

The four juveniles reportedly ran from officers but were apprehended after a brief chase. A total of three BB guns were recovered from the four suspects.

The names or pictures of the juveniles are not being released because it’s not clear if they will be charged as adults.
