DelDOT prepares for upcoming Firefly festival in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Upwards to 50,000 people will be heading to state capital starting this Thursday. DelDOT says they’re well prepared for the concert goers and will only have Leipsic Road shut down near the festival grounds.

“We will be staffing it 24 hours a day, we will have our drones up in the air so we will be ready to respond in real time should we start seeing any back ups occur. We can also adjust signal timing so we will be on it for the duration of the festival and ready to handle any situations that may arise,” explains DelDOT Spokesperson CR McLeod.

The grounds open Thursday morning at 5 a.m. so locals can expect to see the first wave of campers then. Friday is expected to be the worst traffic wise.
