Three arrested on gun charges following traffic stop in Pocomoke
POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – Pocomoke City Police arrested three men on numerous gun charges on Thursday.
According to police, an officer was conducting radar in the area of Route 13 and Brantley Road when a Toyota Camry was observed traveling at 82 mph in a 55 mph zone. A traffic stop was initiated, when it was learned that the driver, 24-year-old Khalia David, did not have a drivers license.
Further investigation led to the discovery of a Glock 26 9mm in the waistband of one of the passengers, identified as 24-year-old Rashid Bynum. Another weapon was seen in plain view under the rear passenger seat, which was determined to be a Smith and Wesson 40 caliber, SD40. The officer also located a Ruger 9mm and Taurus 9mm, PT1162 in the vehicle, as well as two white face masks and gloves. All four handguns were found to be loaded with a round in the chamber.
Bynum, David, and a third passenger, identified as 24-year-old Christopher Parker, were subsequently arrested and were all charged with illegal possession of ammo, four counts of regulated firearm illegal possession, four counts of handgun in vehicle, four counts of loaded handgun in vehicle, four counts of handgun on person, and four counts of loaded handgun on person.
All three were held without bond.
