Queen Anne’s falls short in state championship

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Queen Annes was held to just one hit and dropped the 2A state championship to La Plata 9-0.

Warriors pitcher Ava Krahling had 13 strikeouts in the game and had a no-hitter working into the sixth inning. La Plata scored in three consecutive innings, started off with a solo home run in the second. In the fourth, the Warriors rattled off six runs and pushed the lead to where it would end, 9-0.

Queen Anne’s still finished the 2019 season with a 19-4 record before falling in the championship.
