POLICE: Ocean View man hospitalized after being bitten by a venomous snake

OCEAN VIEW, Del. – A Delaware man was sent to the hospital on Saturday after he was bitten by a venomous snake in his own yard.

The Ocean View Police Department says the snake was confirmed to be a copper head.

The victim has been placed on a 24-hour watch at the hospital. No further details about his condition have been released at this time.

Police say the snake has since been removed from the property and safely released into a nature preserve.

Police did not give us the exact location of the incident, but they say it happened in a development near the police department.
