Malone’s pinch hit homer lifts Dover over Cape

LEWES, Del. – Keon Malone’s pinch hit two-run homer brought Dover back from the brink and secured a 4-1 victory over Cape Henlopen.

Dover’s Dominic Velasquez and Cape’s Mason Fluharty both had solid starts on them mound, trading strikeouts back and forth the entire game. Cape got on the board first after a wild pitch brought Grant Evans in to score.

The Senators battled back in the seventh after Samuel Courtney delivered an RBI single to tie up the ball game. Keon Malone then came up an provided the knockout punch.

Velasquez finished with a complete game and struck out nine. Fluharty went 6 1/3 with eight strikeouts.
