JMB boys lacrosse takes thriller in overtime vs. Mt. Hebron, captures first regional title in school history

SALISBURY, Md.- Braden Glushakow netted the game-winning goal just over two minutes into overtime to give James M. Bennett their first regional boys lacrosse title in school history, 14-13 over Mt. Hebron.

Up 10-8 at half, Bennett would go up as big as 12-9, but a 4-0 run from the Vikings through the 4th quarter gave them a 13-12 lead with just under four minutes to go.

Clippers’ Alex Sewell, who finished the day with six goals, netted his most important, the game-tying with just over two minutes left to send the game into overtime.

In extra time, Lane Farro would find an open Glushakow from behind the cage, sending JMB into the MPSSAA 3A State Semifinals.

This was Bennett’s third matchup against Mt. Hebron in the last two years, all of them went to overtime.

The Clippers will meet Westminster in the state semifinals on May 17th at, ironically, Mt. Hebron high school.
