Construction continues in Downtown Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Things are busy in Downtown Cambridge as construction on High Street continues.

On Monday the 300 block of High Street will be opened to one-way traffic.

The south bound lane will be open, which will make it easier for people to get to places like the Post Office.

Parts of the block will remain closed for completion.

The City Manager Patrick Comiskey said he hopes that by adding things like new bricks more businesses as well as tourists will come to the downtown area.

“We’re hoping that with the street being finished and with the new steak house opening up on High Street that we’re going to see some other businesses take interest to come into downtown and set up shop,” said Comiskey.

If things run smoothly construction at the 300 block of High Street could be completed by July.
