Community teams up with Dover Boys & Girls Club to build playground for children

DOVER, Del. – In a couple of days, kids at Dover’s Boys and Girls club will be begging to go outside once their brand new playground is finished. On Friday, dozens of volunteers worked together to build this entire playground for the organization. Officials tell us the project was all made possible through a Let’s Play Community Construction Grant. They ad that the Boys and Girls Club has only been at it’s Dover location for about 2 years, and they didn’t have a playground for kids to use while they were outside. But luckily once the playground is complete, officials say it will provide each and every child with a safe and structured environment to play in for years to come.

“We really truly care about our community and a building of the community takes all of us coming together and doing that in partnership and today is an absolute example of true partnership of corporations of curiosity leaders of the youth and the youth pitching in to make something great happened for kids,” said director of Community Impact Comcast Jessica Gappa.

Officials say once they put the cement and mulch in around the playground, it will be ready for use within the next couple of days.
