Troopers investigating gas station armed robbery

FREDERICA, Del. – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery of a Valero gas station that occurred Saturday night.

Troopers were dispatched around 10:30 PM to a hold up alarm at the Valero gas station located at 7865 Bay Road, Frederica.

The store clerk told police three masked men who were armed forced their way in as he was locking up. Once inside, the suspects demanded the employee to open the safe. The employee was unable to open the safe when a struggle ensued and the employee was struck with the handle of a gun, causing minor injury.

The employee was able to activate the alarm. The suspects obtained several tobacco products prior to fleeing the area on foot.

The suspects were described as two black males and one white male.
