The American Cancer Society wants to get you up and moving with their Shorebird Metric Century

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md.– Grab your helmets and lace up your sneakers! The 27th annual Shorebird Metric Century Bike Ride is back, raising money for cancer research.

47 ABC’s Erica Murphy was joined by Addie Mister, from the American Cancer Society, to talk about the event coming up on Saturday May 4th.

The Shorebird Metric Century is a 15, 30 or 60 mile bike ride through parts of lower Sussex County and northern Wicomico, starting & ending at Tall Tales Brewery with lots of other amenities.

The bike rides are “show and go” which means you can show up at anytime between 7 and 9 AM and hop on the bike route.

This event helped raise roughly $20,000 for the American Cancer Society back in 2018 and they are hoping to reach or surpass that goal again in 2019.

Registration for this event is currently $45.00 and that includes a t-shirt. However, after April 12th, registration will be $55.00 and the t-shirt will not be included. They will also be sold the day of the event.

To find out more information or register for the event, you can log on to www.shorebirdmetriccentury.org.
