New renovations underway at High Street in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Construction in Downtown Cambridge in Dorchester County is underway.

The 300 block of High Street in Cambridge will be getting a much needed facelift. According to town officials, the street has been a headache for drivers and desperately needs to be upgraded.

Steve Rideout the Cambridge commissioner said that the project, which is underway, will add bricks and help the town lure in some more foot traffic.

“With it being prepared and we have a new restaurant moving into the High Spot I think we’re looking forward getting High Street back on it’s feet and ready for more visitors,” said Rideout.

The Cambridge commissioner said construction is expected to be completed in May. Rideout said that water pipes from under the streets will also be removed during construction.
