Community comes together for Egg Hunt in Doverdale Park

SALISBURY, Md. – Dozens of kids grabbed their baskets and hunted for over 2,000 eggs on Sunday at the Doverdale Park.

The event hosted by the CVG Maryland Eastern Shore Chapter offered all sorts of candy and even $20 dollar bills inside the colorful eggs.

The non-profit organization also offered kids free school supplies as well as some delicious barbecue food like hot dogs.

According to the Chapter President Janelle Deshields there are many kids in the community who are in need and events like the egg hunt provide those kids with some support.

“There’s a need that we are constantly overlooking for food, for supplies, for clothing, for shelter that our children lack in the community,” said Deshields.

“We see that need and we’re trying to fill that need the best way that we can,” said Deshields.

According to the Chapter President the CVG Maryland Eastern Shore Chapter will also be hosting events that support the homeless community in the future.
